Three things stand out in the 2026 data:
**1. The OTA markup is real.** Several operators price higher on Viator than on their own websites — in the largest case the *same cruise, same boat, same lunch* costs **€134 booked direct and €149 on Viator**, an 11% difference. Marketplaces charge operators 20–25% commission, and part of that ends up in the sticker price. If you've found a cruise you like on a marketplace, it's worth thirty seconds to check the operator's own site.
**2. Prices are stable across the season.** Our April 2026 snapshot showed the same €127 average as August. Unlike hotels and flights, Athens day cruises don't do surge pricing — but they do sell out, especially the sunset departures and mid-August dates. Booking early buys availability, not a lower price.
**3. You broadly get what you pay for.** The route's operators cluster between 4.4 and 4.9 stars. The cheapest boat on the route (€105) is a solid budget option; the €130–€140 tier buys smaller groups, better food, and hosted service. Nothing on this route is a tourist trap — the Saronic day-cruise market is genuinely competitive.

Every operator on the route includes the essentials in the headline fare: the three-island sail (Agistri, Moni, Aegina), lunch on board, and swim stops. The differences that justify the €40 spread are group size, drinks policy (open bar vs. paid bar), hotel transfers (typically a €10–€15 add-on), and the boat itself — traditional motor yacht vs. larger cruise vessel.
